2023: A Year in Review of Three Game-Changing Blog Posts

As we approach the end of 2023, it's time to reflect on changemakers that elevated our thinking, sparked insightful conversations, and shed light on the ever-evolving nonprofit landscape. Through the power of technology, our changemakers connected with thousands of leaders via our curated discussions, addressing crucial aspects of professional development and organizational success. Here they are in review:

1. Hack Your Bureaucracy: Get Things Done No Matter What Your Role

In the fast-paced world of nonprofit organizations, navigating bureaucratic obstacles is a constant challenge. The discussion, led by our CEO, Rosye Blancas Cloud, on September 22, 2023, was a beacon for professionals seeking to navigate bureaucratic frameworks. Featuring esteemed guests Marina Nitze and Nick Sinai, authors of "Hack Your Bureaucracy: Get Things Done No Matter What Your Role," the session provided actionable insights into initiating and driving projects independently.

The authors arrived at their insights after observing individuals navigating bureaucratic systems. They emphasized that acknowledging the prevalence of bureaucracy is the first step toward becoming an effective organization. The book outlines six key themes and offers tools for successfully navigating bureaucratic environments. Panelists urged participants to understand bureaucratic processes, use them strategically, and find ways to innovate within established structures.

The session conveyed a powerful message: "Stop trying to make bureaucracy care—hack your bureaucracy." "Hack Your Bureaucracy" is an indispensable resource, inspiring us to seize initiative within our organizations and turn ideas into impactful actions.

2. Glass Walls: Shattering Gender Bias Barriers in the Workplace

The conversation on "Glass Walls" illuminated the persistent challenges faced by women at work. Facilitated by our CEO, Rosye Blancas Cloud, this session featured authors Dr. Amy Diehl and Dr. Leanne Dzubinski, the visionary minds behind "Glass Walls: Shattering the Six Gender Bias Barriers Still Holding Women Back at Work."

The authors shared insights from their research and experiences and illuminated the subtle nuances of gender bias and the benefits of fostering gender diversity. The book provides organizations with proactive and tangible methods to assess and proactively tackle six predominant gender bias barriers and accompanies an online diagnostic tool.

The overarching message was clear: championing gender diversity yields multiple strategic benefits—it's an impact and outcome multiplier for social impact and nonprofit organizations. "Glass Walls" emerges as an instrumental resource, inspiring us to cultivate a workplace where every individual has the opportunity to excel.

3. Twelve Skills: The guide to becoming a stronger leader and accelerating your career

For our final session, Laura M. Downing, author of "Twelve Skills: The Guide to Becoming a Stronger Leader and Accelerating Your Career," joined Rosye Blancas Cloud for a powerful conversation titled "Purpose Driven Leadership: Growing Your Dream Team."

Laura emphasized the accessibility of leadership for all and provided a roadmap for managers to identify and cultivate essential leadership skills. The discussion explored the twelve skills categorized into six areas and empowered individuals to assess their strengths and weaknesses, fostering professional growth.

The takeaway was clear: Each of us possesses leadership responsibilities, and as we strive to nurture leaders from within, "Twelve Skills" emerges as an indispensable resource, inspiring us to cultivate workplaces where everyone can thrive professionally and personally.
